Clean that Cilantro!

We’ve all been there… we buy herbs, specifically cilantro, and find them really dirty and full of sand.

How do you completely clean your herbs? Follow these tips to properly clean and store your cilantro:

- pluck the leaves or cut the stems off
- put the herbs in a bowl
- fill with cold water
- add a pinch of salt
- shake the herbs around to losen the dirt and sand
- let sit for a few minutes

When you pull the herbs out of the water, grab the herbs carefully not to disturb the water too much.  If you notice the water super dirty I recommend giving it another rinse, leave the salt out this time.

Put your herbs in a salad spinner to get all the water off, place in a tupperware container or zip lock bag and store.  If you don’t have a salad spinner then place them on a clean dish rag and gently roll it up.
